Jim Leonard here again! In my grief, I almost forgot that Bill was the Best Man at our wedding in 1971. We had rented tuxedos for the wedding which were way off in measurement of the pants. Bill got a hotel sewing kit and re hemmed the pants! Another practical skill he learned in the Armed Forces.

Jim Leonard here. Bill was my closest friend in high school.We enjoyed each other's company and spent time at each others' house. We practiced our band music there. Bill was a very good sax player and I played clarinet.
 Unfortunately I lost track of him after his stint in the air force and his work as a medical equipment serviceman.It looks as though he didn't go far away from his roots. I tried to reach him on "classmates" with no result.
 We spent a few days at his dad's friends mink ranch near Montreal. The mother there spoke only french! Bill and I had many laughs as we tried to communicate with her! That was in 1967!
 His life seems so short but he did a lot; he had a heart of gold. I wish I could turn back time a bit.... What a great friend he was! Please accept my deepest sympathies.Jim Leonard docjl@shaw.ca ( now living in Vernon BC)

When I was young,I was intimidated by my oldest cousin Bill. This was due mostly to the fact that his size was considerably greater than mine.Also,his head seemed to be forever in a book,he said little and had a look that could frighten me.Then I grew up and realized that I possessed the cynical sense of humour and "drop dead" stare and I too am an avid reader.I thought it odd that Bill never married as most people tend to do.Then I looked at myself and realized at 54 I haven't married and it doesn't feel odd.I'm grateful that I was able to reconnect with Bill during his illness to bring a bit of pleasure to him and to see our similarities and to understand that although some may find our traits odd,we own them because Marg and Bob were sister and brother and that's all we needed.I would also like to add a little ditty that always stood out in my mother's memory of Bill.It was many years ago(Mike was in a stroller)and the Reaman's came to stay with my family in Sault Ste. Marie for a few days.My father went on several bread runs during their stay as Bill would devour 5 tomato sandwiches in one sitting ! Mom always remembered that with a chuckle.It was enlightening to hear the various speakers at Bill's funeral to know the sensitive side of him as well as his good deeds done and if in fact my father was the "Bob" that Bill was sure came to visit,that was my dad's good deed and that makes me smile.Love,Terri

There wasn't one Friday night that Bill wasn't in the stands cheering us on, every homenight & playoff game from Atom AA up until now at Minor Midget AA. Somehow i think he still won't miss a game. Bill loved his hockey, and continually tried to push forward minor hockey to let every kid enjoy the game. He was a great man, and we will think of him every time we step out onto the ice.

Our deepest sympathy to you and your loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of need. It is with great sadness we see him leave but with great joy to have had the opportunity to enjoy his friendship.

I first meet Bill in late August 1971 when I came to Toronto to pursue my education at Devry institute of Technology. Within a few months, a certain friendship started to evolve between Bill Reaman, Jim Caldwell, Romeo Francescut and myself (Philippe Robidas). As time went by, we became more supportive and would help each other out with homework assignments, study sessions for exams and so on. To fill the gap between some classes, we started to play pool at a plaza nearby. I can't remember who's idea it was but it was an instant hit and all 4 of us eventually bought a 2 piece queue stick with a carrying case. We never really got good at it but it was never about the game anyway, it was more about the camaraderie than anything else.

The real test of friendship took place when we graduated in July of 1973. This had the be the most awkward moment in our lives when none of us could say "goodbye" nor really wanted to part ways. Upon realizing what was taking place, we decided to have a pool night which took place every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 9:30 and survived the test of time until 1988.

Our friendship was not limited to Thursday nights either. Your house on Weston road was a common meeting place before heading out to the cottage. Bill taught us to water ski and the 4 of us always looked forward to those special summer weekends.

One year, Bill asked the 3 of us if we wanted to help build a cottage frame over a long weekend. This was my first introduction to black flies which I could have gone without but still very proud of being part of that weekend where we accomplish so much with the Reaman family and friends. Somehow, I mostly remember your dad as being called "Slim" and not Harold and a friend of his who was leading the project liked to say " You don't get church work in a barn". Amazing teamwork took place and I believe we accomplished what we set out to do.

Michael, if memory serve me right, we had nicknamed you Mikie which was based on a television serial commercial where 2 siblings where hesitant of trying a new serial and said " Let's give it to Mikie" where the younger sibling sitting in a high chair grabbed the bowl and proudly ate the serial leaving the other 2 in amazement.

As time went by, our lives changed for all 4 of us as we grew up, some got married, had children and eventually made it impossible to carry the same lifestyle but the memories for those 17 precious years will live on forever.

Bill, my friend, this is not a good-bye but merely a pause until we meet again.

Very sad to hear of Bills passing, he will certainly be missed by myself and my son. Not only was he a good hockey man but a great friend as well. Will miss him at westwood arena and all his good natured jokes. Tony and Brent Clarke.

Our son Austin joined the Huskies family this season (which he loves), but didn't get an opportunity to meet Bill,  however, he has come to respect and enjoy having his brother Mike along side him on the bench and I the company of his wife Wendy in the stands. I had the honour of knowing Bill as a GTHL Huskies Player and as a Huskies Assistant Couch.  He cared for everyone in the GTHL world and was very close with all his family and friends.  My condolences go to the family during this very difficult time.  I hope you find some peace knowing that Bill is no longer in any pain and will forever be our Guardian Angel.

The first memory of Bill was in the late 60's of him bending wire for cages and tin for pans and feeders for the farm clients.This is the time we all got bit by the pressure wash industry and set our long lasting professorial life. Thanks for all the good memories Bill. Your friend Paul.

Our boys learned a great deal from Bill.
He loved giving back to those less fortunate. During the holidays, he initiated food drives through the Humberview Huskies organization, and also made sure that every child had a fair opportunity to lace up and be part of a team. His legacy will live on.
May the family take comfort in knowing that he is at peace, and may God give them strength in this difficult time.

What can I say about Bill Reaman. He was a very honest, fair, hard-working, passionate, caring individual who provided a great deal of opportunity to kids who otherwise would not have had the opportunity. I myself have so much to thank Bill for, whether it be through hockey, or life in general. He was a great friend to not only me, but to many people. His dedication allowed kids of all ages to do something they loved to do. Bill did this better than anyone I know. He loved to see kids happy. And he made so many of them happy by having the opportunity to play a game that  we all love. Bill, you will be missed. But you will never be forgotten. Thank you for all that you've done for me because without your help I would never be where I am today.
