BAILEY, Adeline Baxter Moran, 92, of Valrico entered into rest August 6, 2013. She was born in Tampa on December 9, 1920, to Horace E. and Eulalea Whatley Baxter, who each died at the age of 83. She was predeceased by husbands, Willard M. Moran, W.S. "Bill" Bailey; and a sister, Theresa Inez Samuels. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1938 and worked at S.H. Kress as supervisor and buyer until 1944. For the next 10 years she was secretary at Bryan School in Tampa. In January 1955, she went to work at the Hillsborough County Teacher's Credit Union (now Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union). At that time, there were only five employees including the manager, Mr. Henry Claywell. She loved the work and the Credit Union's philosophy until her retirement December 31, 1982. Her travels took her to all U.S. states except Alaska. She devoted much of her time to helping others until she developed macular degeneration, becoming legally blind, and could no longer drive. An active member for 63 years of the Order of Eastern Star Mystic Chapter #110, Adeline served as Worthy Matron in 1959. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brandon. Survivors include her sister, Marcelle B. Hunt of Plant City; two step-daughters, Rebecca Mulrennan (Chris) of Gainesville, Fla., and Roberta "Bobbi" Gay (Vernon) of Maryville, Tenn.; and several nephews. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Stowers Funeral Home with an Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m. She will have a private burial next to her first husband, Willard M. Moran, in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa. In lieu of flowers, her desire was that contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 12502 Pine Drive, Tampa, Florida 33613. Adeline was grateful for the many friends who helped in her final years, particularly Sylvia Woss, Don Burt and Allen Morgan. To all the many friends who sent cards and visited, Adeline expresses her sincere appreciation.
