Dexter, Alan L., 63, of Seffner passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 23, 1949 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Dale Richard and Gwendolyn Mae Dexter. Alan was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He retired after 25 years of service as postal carrier for the United State Post Office in Tampa. Alan was an avid golfer. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Lynn; son, Tony Dexter; daughter, Jennifer Dexter; mother, Gwendolyn Mae Dexter; brothers, Dale Richard Dexter Jr. (Jackie), Glenn Dexter (Nancy) and Brian Dexter (Sue); sister, Patricia Dexter-Willemsen (Allen); a loving extended family and circle of friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, at 2 PM at River Hills Country Club, 3943 New River Hills Parkway, Valrico 33596. Guest check-in will begin at 1:15 PM at the main gate. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Alan’s name to Sun City Center Hospice House of LifePath Hospice. Alan will be deeply missed and loved forever.
