Eulogy at Alex's viewing:

Alexandra, Alex, Lesha, Mom, or Nana, she was one of those to all of us.  Though we all called her something different, we know it meant the same thing.  Because when we referred to her, we referred to a wonderful special person.  Someone who blessed our life.  
That is who Nana was.  Though she was my mother in law, my name of Nana for her was because my daughter Alex told me once “That is not Alex, I am Alex, that is Nana”  So she was my “Nana” my special person too.
She was not a mother in law we dealt with.  She was a Nana, we wanted around.  She was the fourth member of Teresa’s and my family. She was a beautiful person, a true blessing to all who knew her.  She added so my happiness to all our lives.  She will be missed but never forgotten.
She comes from a small Ukrainian immigrant family.  1 Sister, Aunt Zierka and 1 brother Uncle Rusty.  As we all know, Nana was very close to her sister and brother.  The 3 of them were best friends.  
Yes, they bicker as siblings do, yes they are all different to a certain degree, but they were best friends and loving siblings.  They would be in contact constantly, sharing stories, laughing and taking care of each other.  That is a true sign of the love among the 3.  Nothing was more beautiful than to see her excited to go see them in PA.  
Later on in life she married the love of her life my Father in Law, Jim Sittaro and became parents of my beautiful wife Teresa.  Like her relationship with her siblings, so was her relationship with her daughter Teresa.  They talked every day, sometimes a couple of times.  She was an awesome Mom to Teresa.  To this day, I still remember all the stories Teresa shared with me on all the beautiful childhood memories she had of her Mom.  She made sure her daughter was loved and taken care of. 
 I can go on forever on how Nana impacted our lives and the great relationships we had with her.  The bottom-line is simple; she treated everyone she knew the same way.  She touched us all deeply. 
 So of course we all selfishly did not want her to go, we wanted her to stay with us and continue to make us smile, laugh, and brighten our lives.  However, it was time for Nana to go home.  Nana’s physical body was worn out and it was time for her to leave.  Yet, her last breath in this earth was followed by her first breath in heaven and now she looks upon us and will keep smiling.
We all know Nana was sick, she fought hard.  She worked at her job till the bitter end.  She maintained her apartment till the end.  
Nana hated charity; she was a strong independent woman, at times a single mom, a cancer survivor, a waitress with an artificial hip for over 20 years.  But she was never a charity case; she hated to be treated as such.  She was tough, feisty, smart and an excellent role model to her daughter (my wife Teresa) and my daughter Alex.  She comes from a line of strong Ukrainian women and lived to the standards set by others in her family.  
Why bring up this?  The reason is simple; I am here to represent Nana, because I know her well.  I am here to say what she would have wanted me to discuss.
Nana was sick but not sickly;
 Nana lived along but not lonely. 
 Nana was tired but not weary.  So let’s not talk or think of her that way.  
Nana was strong, independent, feisty and funny!  Please think of Nana as such.  Think of her and the fun times and funny things she did.  Think of Nana and smile!  Let Nana continue to live in our hearts in memory as she truly was.  Please do this in her honor.  
Do not cease to talk about Nana because it bring sadness, Nana was not sad.  
Talk about Nana and laugh and smile.  That is what Nana was.  
This is who Nana wants to continue to be.  
The Mother in Law that always picked on me and made fun when I screwed up my English.
The Mother who picked on her daughter and helped me make fun of my wife.  The co-worker that was feisty and made you guys laugh.  The pretending to be speaking Russian with Gilbert in the elevator at work and people thought is was really Russian and when she left the elevator she would laugh hysterically.  The fun she made of my brother Angel for all his marriages.  
Please share these stories.  Please think of them and smile.  Bingo, cruises, COPS, Lifetime TV and GOSSIP!  Alexandra was the best, Alex was awesome, Lesha was a true sister.  Mom was the best mother and Nana was the best grandmother and Mother in Law.  Please remember how Nana lived, not died.  
Please let Alex continue to be who she was, happy

Alex, I barely knew you but will never forget the one lunch we shared with Gilbert. The good conversation and laughs we had. I will never forget your ever smiling face. You are truely an inspiration for all of us who had the opportunity to be around you.  FMCC will never be the same. To your loving family, you are in my thoughts and prayers, may God assure you Alex is in a better place and free of pain.

My thoughts and prayers are all who loved, lived and laughed with Alex.. she was a very beautiful women inside and out, never without a smile or kind word to say...she will be missed but never forgotten..how could she....she was Miss ALEX

All your friends @ Ford were truly blessed in knowing such a caring and lovely person.  You will be missed. You have impacted our lives now and will be in our memories forever. I have no idea what to say except that my heart aches for you, especially after seeing her photo tribute, for it is obvious Alexandra was a huge part of your lives. Give yourselves the time you need to walk through this, know that your friends and family hold you in their hearts and keep you in their prayers.

I will miss Alex so much! Her smile and laughter is with me always. My heart and love go out to your family. She was a part of our family also here at Ford and without her around it will never be the same! She will be missed by everyone!

I will always remember Alex for her humor, her love for her friends, her bright smile and her optimism. She was a kind and loving soul and I will never forget her. I know she is at peace now. My prayers are with the family and all of those who knew and loved her.

I didn't have the pleasure of ever meeting her.....but I always heard great things about her. I wish I could be there for all of you, just for support, but I'm sorry I can't. Mom's are the greatest people and I miss my mom every day. God Bless & you will all see her again , in Heaven.

 I remember when she used to live across the street from us and my mom would work late. I would go over and sit and talk to her and she would always make me laugh. I loved her perogies and she knew it so she would make them for me all the time. I will miss her so very much!!

You will be missed. I remember having sleepover's with teresa and you always made me feel at home. We always did cool stuff like going to the drive in. I will remember you always.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you all.  She will be missed as will her contagious smile!  This year she will celebrate her birthday with Jesus!  Praying for peace during this time.
