Anthony John Masiello was born in New York City in 1931. He completed some college before being drafted into the Army in 1950. He served in Japan during the Korean War. He fondly remembers his time serving his country because of the learning opportunities it gave him and also because it is where he met Thomas Terino, the brother of Ann Marie Terino. Upon returning home from the war he met Ann. They fell in love and she became his wife. Thanks to the training he received during his time in the Army he became a telephone communications technician, and worked for AT&T and Verizon until he retired in 1990. He and Ann moved to Hawley, PA where they lived together happily until her death in 1997. Anthony remained in Pennsylvania, enjoying golf and travel opportunities with his good friends. He began to winter in Florida in 2005, and made many friends in Valrico, FL. He moved to Florida permanently in 2012, and enjoyed Sertoma meetings and parties with his friends in the neighborhood. He is survived by his sons John and Michael; their spouses Diane and Mary Ann; his sister Rose; his brother Frankie; and five grandchildren: Ann Marie, Michelle, Bethany, Christopher, and Christa.
A funeral mass for Anthony will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Nativity Catholic Church, 705 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511.
