

TURNER, Mr. Berrisford W., known to most as “Turner” was born November 25, 1941 to his father, Wilfred Turner and mother, Ira Grant in Westmoreland, Jamaica where he was reared by his father’s mother, Clementina Davis.
After receiving his formal education in Jamaica, he served in the Military Regiment in 1963. In 1966, Turner migrated to Freeport, Bahamas where he worked for the Royal Bahamas Police Department. He left that position and was an ambulance driver at Rand Memorial Hospital. On May 23, 1970, he married Lorna Bromfield. In 1974, Turner journeyed to the United States. He worked for Barker and Company in New York and later worked for Cooper and Lybrand which later became Pricewater House Cooper. The company relocated him and his family to Florida where he continued to work as a tape librarian until he retired in 2005. He was a man devoted to his faith, he enjoyed cooking, watching television, his cars, helping others and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Turner is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lorna Turner; three children, Shelley Turner, Terry Turner, Christopher Turner; six grandchildren, Akil Turner, Christopher Turner, X’aveaur Turner, Jade Turner, Iria’anna Turner, and Matthew Pommells.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
