Gloria was born on February 15th, 1935, to John and Crystal Pinkerton in Evansville, IN. After graduating from High school Gloria went on to pursue a career as a secretary.
On December 5th, 1953, Gloria married the love of her life, Alfred E. Colvin, going on to have 2 children, Anna Marie Rainey and Charles A. Colvin.
Gloria enjoyed the simple things in life, she would always make a point to find the joy in the small things and point out the humor in any situations she faced. She was a strong believer that “Life isn’t fair, and you have to keep moving forward”, and that is what she did. She traveled with her family and soaked in the joy and laughter her grandchildren (Jarred Rainey, Chris Rainey, Doug Colvin and Scott Colvin) brought and she watched them as they grew up and eventually would have their own children as well (Avery Rose Colvin and Cayden Christopher Rainey). She would always make time for her family and friends, and it was easy to see they were what she loved most in life and her greatest treasure. She is also famed for making the best Cherry Pie.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Alfred E. Colvin; her parents John and Crystal Pinkerton; her sisters Sylvia Shoulders and Nona Schoenbaechler; her grandchildren Chris Rainey and Doug Colvin. She is survived by her children Anna Marie Rainey (David Rainey), and Charles A. Colvin (Lesa Colvin); her grandchildren Jarred Rainey (Randi Rainey), and Scott Colvin; and her great grandchildren Avery Rose Colvin and Cayden Christopher Rainey.
