

COPELAND, Charles Edwin, 98 of Tampa, passed away on November 9st, 2019. He was born on January 23, 1921 in Rockmart, Georgia and is pre-deceased by his wife of 69 years, Marjorie F. Copeland; and is survived by his children; Charles E. Copeland, Jr. of Marietta, Georgia and Cathy Calahan, of Brandon, Florida, daughter-in-law Pamela Copeland, son-in-law Len Calahan, grandchildren; Natalie Peterson of Alexandria, Virginia, Brittany Elson of Atlanta, Georgia, Phillip Calahan, Kelly Percin of Parker Colorado and great-grandchildren; Cole Peterson, Charlotte and Viviane Elson, Sara and Shannon Calahan, Brandon, Eric and Brooklynne Percin, and great-great-grandchild Xzavier Garcia . He was known as Uncle Bud to his nieces and nephews and is also survived by Gale Porter, Sylvia Kelley, Shirley Moore, Sally Benjamin, Tom Copeland, Larry Seymour, and their families. He graduated from Hillsborough High School and was an Eagle Scout. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II as a pilot and flight instructor. After the war he attended the University of Tampa and was a private pilot and taught his wife to fly. His hobbies included, gardening, tinkering, and traveling to North Carolina for the change in seasons. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19th from 6-8 p.m. at Stowers Funeral Home with funeral services on Wednesday, November 20th, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Florida National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
