She looked forward to family gatherings that she prepared and would then join in the fun around the pool . So many cherished memories created by Nana.
While raising children she found time to educate herself and became one of the most accomplished insurance women in her region. She received The FIRST Woman Million Dollar Round Table award for the Northeast Region of Metropolitan Insurance. The family was proud when she appeared in the centerfold of LIFE Magazine for her accomplishment. She went on to achieve several licenses to become a Financial Planner, going into business for herself and opening her one woman office.
After losing her husband of fifty years, Vincent C. Ferratusco, Cynthia left her Malden home and moved to Brooksby Village in Peabody. It was there she made many new friends and met a wonderful gentleman named Irving Goldston.
Cynthia and Irving had the distinguished accomplishment of becoming the first couple to meet at Brooksby Village and marry in their chapel. Cynthia’s love of singing and acting had her joining the Brooksby Singers and she began performing in the Follies and plays presented each year. Always first in line to show off her creative Halloween costumes and many times receiving first prize. You could count on her to dress up for every holiday and occasion!
Cynthia and Irving spent many evenings entertaining the groups of residents at Harvest Grill. She would sing and Irving would play the piano or drum kit. She was so popular the other residents would come solely to hear her sing. They loved to travel and shared a love so special enjoying every minute of their life together until Irvings’ passing in 2016.
Cynthia was loved by her family but also by her extended family and friends. She was so kind and thoughtful we know that many people will miss her dearly. Her loving spirit will live on in the thoughts and actions of her children and many family members.
Cremation will be in Florida with a burial and Celebration of Life to follow in Massachusetts, date to be announced.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HillsboroMemorial.com for the Ferratusco family.
