

Cynthia Ann (Leger) (Spare) Nunes, 66, went home to the Lord on February 2, 2021. She passed away from cancer in peace at home surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her mother Lillian Leger Smith, father James Tusia, grandparents Joseph and Phyllis Duguay Leger, and her brother Keith Smith.
Cindi was born in Leominster, Massachusetts on May 16th, 1954 later moving to Fitchburg where she made life-long friends and graduated from Fitchburg High School. In Massachusetts she worked for the Commonwealth as an Administrative Assistant training personnel in Mental Health centers throughout the state. In 1984, she moved to Brandon Florida where she raised her family. She began her career in the Professional Employer Organization Industry as a Project Manager. In 1999, her company relocated South to Bradenton. She then began a new career in a corporate free environment at St. Stephens Catholic school, where she enjoyed supporting the education of young Christian minds. She later transitioned to New Point Charter Schools and eventually Pepin Academies where she worked until her death making a difference in every interaction.
Cindi was passionate about beaches, road trips, crafts, and loved visiting the cottage in Cape Cod. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan with a room dedicated to everything Elvis. New England was always with her in spirit, as she decorated to resemble the winter seasons of the North. Cindi’s Christmas parties where epic events where numerous children had the opportunity to meet Santa Claus while adults enjoyed food and drink.
Cindi is survived by her husband of 38 years, Paul Nunes, her three sons Shawn Spare (Kara), Ryan Nunes (Heather), and Kristopher Nunes, her five grandsons, Brandon Spare, Dalton Spare (Madison), Cameron Spare, Kaidon Spare, and Kylon Spare, her brothers Craig Smith, Randy Smith, and Rodney Smith. She was loved and adored by her numerous nieces and nephews throughout the Northeast. A Requiem Mass will be held in her honor at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church located at 4450 County Road 579 in Seffner, Florida. The service will be streamed live on Facebook at stfrancisccseffner.com. In lieu of flowers Cindi would like donations made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis Tennessee, which coincidentally is the home of Graceland!
Cindi will be missed by all who encountered her and her legacy will be long lasting.
