I am so sorry for your loss.  I worked with Daryl at American Bedding/Spring Air.  He was a good, smart & funny man.  His office was on the other side of the wall from me when I first started there & he would bang on the wall to scare me while I was working...  God bless your family.  

I worked and became friends with Daryl years ago in Fort Lauderdale before he met Jennifer.  We supported each other through a few difficult times and had some fun times too, he was always someone I could talk to.  I remember when Daryl met Jennifer and how happy he was.  I attended their wedding and knew she was the best thing to happen to him, he knew it too.  The kids came along, I saw him become a good father and how much he loved them both.   He had a lot of love in his life as he deserved.  Daryl was a good person, husband and father.
I lost touch after moving back to Michigan, but I remember Daryl as one of the smartest people I ever knew.  His self-taught computer knowledge and skills were impressive, and I remember that he helped me buy and set-up my first home computer back in the days before Windows and social media.  He also taught me to use it, and to play Doom (DOS based).  He always made me smile about something, he was a good friend.  I keep thinking about not taking anything for granted and appreciating everyone I care about. I cared about Daryl, and I’m always going to wish that I had given him a call just to say hello.  Now I can only miss him.
Jennifer, Trevor and Brooke, I wish the very best for you all.  I once read that you never get over the grief of losing a loved one, it changes you and you learn to live with it. I hope your journey of change is gentle and kind.

Dear Jennifer, Trevor and Brooke,

I have been friends with Jennifer Valent for over 25 years. We met while working together at North Broward Hospital. I knew her when she met Daryl. I was at their wedding. Shortly thereafter they moved to Tampa area but we always remained close. No matter where I've lived since Jen and I always stayed in touch. She is a beautiful friend and a beautiful person inside and out. My heart goes out to her, Trevor and Brooke in the loss of husband and father. I pray God will comfort them in the difficult days ahead. My prayers are always with them.
