David William Johnson, “DJ”, was a caring husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and loyal friend. Dave was a faith filled man and took the journey home to our Heavenly Father to receive His grace and peace. His family and friends can find comfort in knowing that he is surrounded and filled with joy from the many loved ones that have gone before him. From rainbow bridges to fishing honey holes, Dave has that big beautiful smile on his face and his eyes are bluer than the oceans.
Dave met his wife, Monika through their two boys who played soccer together. No surprise to anyone, he got her phone number by inviting her son on a fishing trip! His kindness, gentle nature and the ability to love life, stole her heart. They both were the loves of their lives and raised four wonderful men. He was generous, caring and giving to his family. He has a son, Justin Johnson (27) and raised him to love fishing as much as he did. Justin was his pride and joy. Remember, “I love you son”. Dave also had three step sons, Christopher Wilson (32) Justin Wilson (29) and Ryan Wilson (26). His heart was those four boys and he would always say “how proud he was of each of them”.
Dave was born and raised in Bakersfield, Ca. July 14, 1968 and moved to Florida in the 1990’s were his son Justin was born in 1995. Till this day, Dave still remains close friends with some of the people he grew up with. That’s what kind of man he was. Loyal, trustworthy and he could make you laugh. He worked for Tampa Electric for over 30 years. Again he was loyal and always considered those friends as family. His work family. His brothers.
Dave was passionate about fishing, boating, woodworking and gardening. He loved his palm trees! He found pleasure in all those things and they gave him great joy.
Dave was a son (Kay Johnson and Robert Johnson) and brother (Steve Johnson). He loved his family very much. He was their joy and his presence and memories will surround them with peace and love.
And He will raise you up on eagle’s wings, bear you on the breath of dawn and make you to shine like the sun…and hold you in the palm of His hand. Rest in peace our beloved.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HillsboroMemorial.com for the Johnson family.
