David Charles Vollmar, 79, of Riverview, FL, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024. David, fondly known as Dave, was Born in Toledo, OH on January 30, 1945, to Charles and Fern Vollmar. He graduated from the University of Toledo in 1968 with a degree in Engineering Technology, eventually settling in Ann Arbor/Saline, Ml. In 1986 he started a 23-year career at Timken Corporation in Canton, OH, where he remained until retirement in 2009.
A lifelong fan of hockey and Michigan football, Dave came to cheer for the local Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Lightning Teams. He would never pass up an opportunity to discuss sports. Dave was a proud father and doting "Papa" who often spoke highly of his children and grandchildren. He was a man of observation, a puzzle addict and could often be found doing word searches, jigsaw puzzles, sudoku and mahjong.
Dave's loving spirit is carried on by his wife of 49 years Mary; children Donna, Elizabeth (Greg), Tamera (Rick), Jackie, Brian (Shay), Eric (Niki), and Linda, 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, brother Jim, and his 12 yr. old chihuahua Mickey.
