I am very sorry to hear of Debbie passing, she was a very sweet little girl and a kind and compassionate woman.  My sincere sympathy to Larry, Gilbert, Tony and Joe.  Remembering family gatherings, your cousin Diana

Debbie and I worked together for over 20 years. She was a wealth of knowledge with a wicked sense of humor.  I was very sad to hear of her passing. I always see her as a hard worker and friend. My condolences to her family she will be so missed in this world.

Debbie, we're still processing over here. Even though we've been separated by miles and silence for some time, you're just one of those people in our lives that we expect to be able to pick up the phone and call. Dang. You displayed a special kind of faith; you wouldn't settle for boxing God in to some of the paradigms "they" told us about.  Your kindness and unconditional love remain a strong chord in me. I look forward to seeing you in the resurrection, my dear friend.

In the church we attended together, we were encouraged to only trust in the Lord, and not put faith in doctors or medicine.  I developed an ingrown toenail and was discouraged by the church leadership to go to a doctor, but somehow it was okay to have a member of the church do the treatment.  So, I went to Debbie’s house to have her dig out the infection without pain medication and somehow this was an approved method.  We both learned later to trust one’s health in the Lord and to utilize trained medical doctors to advise and treat.  Together we all seemed to move away from the “hyper faith” into a more balanced faith that encouraged trust in the Lord and trained professionals.  There were other ideas and theologies that together with our leadership circle came to live a balanced spiritual life.   She was one the few people that I could joke with and talk about serious spiritual stuff, including messages in tongues in the congregation that began with “shandai, shandai, shandai” and “yea I say”.  

She saw many leadership failures, and her spirituality was tested many times and she always turned to the Lord as her rock of salvation and strength.  She experienced the worst in mankind yet stayed close to the Lord and never played the victim.  I have so many great memories of my early spiritual development and growth in Christ.  

I give glory to God for the life of Debbie who touched many, many, many people’s lives and left a positive legacy for all.

Debbie was such a wise and faithful friend.   She was loaded with common sense, and I considered her a wise counselor and always ran ideas and plans by her.  She had a unique wit and humor and was blessed with the ability to discern right and wrong and never got caught up in fads or over spiritualizing people or events.  When the leadership of the Young Gospel Singers was passed onto me, she was in my innermost circle of the leadership team.  She was a pioneer in strong leadership among all her peers.

She formed a team around her to do many projects and helped anyway she could.  She and her team of Ro, Stephanie and Patty, prepared my wedding reception food with the reception and wedding at my dad’s house.  She and my dad got each other from the first meeting and was instrumental in softening his heart to the Lord.  My dad joked with her that “tuna casserole ain’t gonna fly”, but she and her team made the casserole, and we were able to feed the attendees.  She was central to planning the YGS retreat at Chinsegut Hill and had the unique ability to see through fluff and hypocrisy and to see the truth in people and movements.

Debby was my rock. She was the most generous person ever. If you needed something she got it for you. She stood by you through thick or thin.  Funny and full of life. I’m blessed to have known her for nearly 50 years and will miss her deeply and daily.   We were able to always pick up where we left off. Love you girl. I know you’re with your Father in heaven snuggling you n His lap as you wished. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Our mothers were the best of friends, affectionately called Gas A__! Debbie and I met in Mr. Capitano's 5th grade class at Clair-Mel Elementary when we were 10 yrs old. Her mother, Ellen, coached our softball team. Debbie and I attended school together up until high school when she chose Brandon High and I went to Brewster. She will be missed. Condolences to the family.

I knew Debbie during our time in the young gospel singers choir in the early/mid 1970s. She was one of those funny, sarcastic, hilarious, compassionate, loving, caring people who made a difference in a lot of teenagers lives. She supported all of us and gave good advice and also knew how to make us laugh! She named my pet rubber snake "Fangs!" Everyone laughed at Fangs! Although we knew each other in our teenage years, the bond that we forged was lifelong. I had lunch with her a few years ago just to catch up on life - and it felt like no time had elapsed! She was that kind of friend! And I know that we will miss her and her wit and her heart. Rest in peace debbie.

Deb and I met in 6th grade, both of us in advanced classes.  One of the smartest people I knew.  The world will miss her.
