He was born in Waco, Ohio, Delmar and spent his youth in Canton, Ohio. There he met and
married Dorothy Alborn and together they moved to Tampa, Florida in 1957.
Thirty six years of his life were dedicated to Musselman Steel Corporation and he retired
as Supervisor of the shop in 1989. He then ran his own business designing and building
trailers for six years.
He had a natural talent for mechanics and souped up more than a few vehicles, his
only known criminal pastime. An avid traveler he favored long road trips and his free
time was spent camping, fishing, and in his later years hunting. Often he could be found
reading a book by Louis L'Amour. He loved to walk at Wallace Brooks park on the shore
of Henderson Lake.
Del is survived by his children Jay Bertram, Zelda Harrell, Cinda Hancock, Debra
Bertram, Connie Graves, Bobby Bertam and Misty Bertram. He also leaves behind
twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and his brothers and sisters.
He will be dearly missed.
