Donald Frederick Sorrell

SORRELL, Donald F. 92, of Valrico, Florida passed away September 16, 2022 with his wife Eythel and his daughter Sandra by his side. Don was born in Omar, W.Va on September 14,1930 to Chester Sorrell and Emma (Downs) Sorrell.

Don was a proud member of The US Army, retiring after 22 years. He served in Korea, VietNam (twice) earning numerous commendations and awards for bravery. After retiring from the Army he went on to retire from the US Postal Service.

Don was predeceased by his youngest daughter Kathy Cereghino. He was also predeceased by his parents (above) and all his siblings, Gordon Sorrell, Zelma Hager, Mary Helen Creech, Sherwood Sorrell, and Pauline Alley.

Don is survived by his wife of 67 years Eythel, daughter Sandra Niday, granddaughters Andrea Jackson, Emily Jackson, Rachel Johnson (Aubrey), Allison Butler (Adam), Hannah Cereghino and grandson Christopher Jackson (Chrystyne). He also leaves great-grandchildren Alysea Jackson, Chance Jackson, Jett Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Grant Butler and Sadie Butler.

A visitation for Donald will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
