

BRITCH, Dorothy V., 90, of Brandon passed away April 15, 2016 surrounded by her family. Dorothy grew up in North Carolina as one of ten children. She married her husband, Joseph, in 1943 and moved to New Bern, NC to raise their six children. The family moved to Brandon in 1973 when Joseph semi-retired. Dorothy was a gifted artist who loved to paint on porcelain and china, a masterful seamstress who loved to sew for her children and grandchildren and a great southern cook.
While in New Bern, Dorothy was an active member St. Paul’s Catholic Church, St. Paul’s School and the Catholic Daughters of America serving one term as the State Regent. She and her husband were active members of Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and daughter, Micheline. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Gay Heath (Danny) of New Bern, NC, Pauline Tracy of Riverview, FL, Teresa Young of Lakeland, FL and sons, Joseph, Jr. (Kathy) of Chino Hills, CA and Charles (Deborah) of Valrico, FL. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Michele Price (Perry), Cove City, NC, Miranda Long (Wayne), Chesapeake, VA, Alexis Britch, of San Luis Obispo, CA, Justin (Katherine) Britch, Irvine, CA, Briana Parnell (Brian) of Brandon, FL, Adam Tracy of Brandon Florida, Samantha Young of Brandon, FL, Marty Cole of Brandon, FL, and Charles Britch (Kellie) of Tampa, FL and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at Nativity Catholic Church Chapel in Brandon on Wednesday, April 20 at 1:00. An additional funeral mass will be on Monday, May 2nd at 1:00 at the Old St. Paul's Church located at 504 Middle Street, New Bern, NC. The service will be led by Father Thomas Tully. The internment will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
