

She was born on April 17, 1940, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Robert Ernest and Dorothy Ragland Hendrix.
Dot graduated from Gainesville High School in 1958. Following high school, she attended the University of Florida and graduated with her Master’s in Education in 1965. Dot retired from Hillsborough County Public Schools, where she taught 9th grade English at East Bay High School in Riverview.
She was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority and Order of the Eastern Star, as well as a faithful parishioner at New Hope United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Brian (Marie) Weil, Melanie (Byron) Rowsey, and Emily (Craig) Jordan; grandchildren, Ryan Van Schaick and Christopher Jordan; many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Chester Bunkley Weil.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 9:30 am until the Celebration of Life at 10:30 am at New Hope United Methodist Church, 120 Knights Avenue, Brandon, Florida 33511. Burial will immediately follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Gardens 4202 E. Lake Avenue Tampa, Florida 33610.
