Mrs. Edna S. Asher

Mrs. Edna S. Asher, age 82, of Riverview, Florida passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022. Edna was born August 15, 1939 in Berwyn, IL. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William C. Asher and survived by their children, Lowell Asher (Gail) and Colleen Ross (Stephen); Grandchildren Janelle Amezcua (Kris); Katrina Fitchett (Ian) and Tim Asher; Stephen Ross (Molly); David William Ross (Maggie Beth); Great Grandchildren: Micah and Raelyn; and her sister Janet Lange (Curt).

Edna and her husband, Bill spent their 57 years of marriage in ministry, first in Fairbury, IL for 2 years, then Bill went on active duty in the Navy as a Chaplain and they travelled all over the world. When he retired from the Navy, they ministered in the First Baptist Church, Des Moines, WA for 20 years. Edna played the piano and organ in every Church and Navy Chapel they were a part of. She also led the choir and did floral arranging for their last church. Even at 82, Edna could be heard playing the piano in her apartment at the Crossing of Riverview, and on occasion for the other residents.

A visitation for Edna will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
