Eileen L. Carson passed away peacefully on August 19, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Susan Farmer in Brandon, FL. Eileen was born on July 13, 1925 in Des Plaines, IL to William and Magdeline Weide Soenksen. She lived in the Chicago area and was the 1943 graduate of Maine Township High School. Eileen met Jack in 1949 at O’Hare Field where she worked in the finance office. They were married June 4, 1949. Jack was in the U.S. Army Air Corps and his assignments took Eileen all over the country: Westover AFB, MA; Washington National Airport, Washington DC; Kindley AFB, Bermuda; Charleston AFB, SC; Chicago, IL; Offutt AFB, NB; Kelly AFB, TX; Hickam AFB, HI; and Richards-Gebaur AFB, MO. After Jack’s retirement from the USAF in 1972, they settled first in Kansas City, MO and then moved to Overland Park, KS. They continued to travel, going to Hawaii and Europe twice. When Jack passed away in 2015, Eileen moved to Florida to live with her daughter Susan.
Eileen was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease 10 years ago. Although she lost memories, she never lost her sense of humor. We will always remember her contagious laugh and her smile.
Eileen is survived by her daughter, Susan Carson Farmer; sons Steven, Howard (Lydia), Jeffrey (Maribeth) and Gary. She was a loving grandmother to Melissa Carson, Rebecca Carson Toy (Frank), Alexander Carson, and Jack Berner Carson; Matthew and Clare Farmer (Mohamed Ahmed); Brian Carson (Betty), Angela Carson Miller (Scott); and Jeremy Carson; and her granddog, Riley. She enjoyed her five great grandchildren: Liam and Sage Miller; Oliver and Miriam Toy; and Izaldin “Zizo” Ahmed. Other survivors include her sister-in-law Gerri Soeknsen of Aurora IL and her children , and niece Diane Stankovic, Sarasota, FL. and her children.
The family would like to thank the LifePath Indigo Team, especially Junia, Elva, and Becky for their care and concern.
