RODRIGUEZ RIVAS, Fermin, 84, passed away September 26, 2011. He served in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars earning three bronze stars, and he retired as a First Sergeant. He later received a B.S. degree in Education and Spanish at Glassboro State University in New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his son, Alexis; and his wife, Concepcion of 57 1/2 years. He is survived by his five children, Annabelle Oquendo (husband Ray), Melissa Caceres (husband Jose), Hector (wife Janet), Nelson (wife Evelyn), William (wife Pascale); and 11 grandchildren, Deanna, Marissa, Cristina, Alexandra, Jasmine, Mariel, Eric, Bianca, Gabriel, Cristian, and Abraham. A visitation will be held 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Stowers Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m., Friday September 30, 2011, at Nativity Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Florida National Cemetery, where he will receive full military honors.
