

Booth, Francis L., 84, of Lutz passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5, 2012. He was born May 20, 1928 in Cork, Florida to Richard and Clara Booth. Francis saw much of Florida as a CSX railroad engineer who retired after 43 years of dedicated service. He was member of the Masonic Olin S. Wright Lodge #79 of Plant City. Francis was a generous man with an enthusiastic spirit who put his family and friends first. He found pleasure in the simple things in life. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, gardening and canning. In recent years, he spent time traveling and making Florida’s best key lime pie. His beloved wife of 58 years, Myra Nell Booth “Scootsie” and eleven brothers and sisters preceded Francis in death. Survivors include his son, Gregory L. Booth and his wife Barbie; daughter, Deborah A. Knighton; brother, Allen Booth; sisters, Thelma Johnson and Betty Forbes; grandchildren, Erin Lantz and his wife Michell; Katherine Lo and her husband Charlie; Rachel Booth and her partner Catherine Hartley, Carrie Burkett and Lori Epperson; great-grandchildren, Patrick Lantz, Audrey Lo and Alysa Lo; great-great granddaughter, Michelle Lantz; nieces, nephews, cousins and countless extended family. Visitation will be Sunday, November 11, from 3-5 PM. Funeral Service will be Monday, November 12, at 10 AM both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, Florida. Donations may be made in Francis' name to the American Red Cross. Francis was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
