

Harold George Dawson was born on March 14, 1952 to Hartford Dawson and Florence McFarlane in Stewart Town, Trelawny. He grew up in Claremont, St. Ann. After graduating from Cornwall College in 1970, he went on to study Accounting at Mercy College.
After graduating high school, he landed his first job as a bank teller for Nova Scotia Bank. Afterwards he worked for Holiday Inn, kicking off a decades long career in the hospitality service industry.
In 1972, he met Veronica Greene and they wed in 1981, going on to have 3 children, him 5 in total: Jaffia, Asia, Jahlani, Travis, and Jahlisha.
After retiring in 2014, George spent his time golfing, watching sports, tending to his grandkids, including homeschooling some of them.
King George was predeceased by his parents and his siblings: Lornette, Oscar, Hyacinth, Maude. He is survived by his wife, Veronica; his sons: Jahlani and Travis; daughters: Jaffia, Asia, and Jahlisha; his brothers: Winston, Dudley, Noel, Norman, and Gary; his sisters: Marjorie, Gwendolyn, and Heather; his 14 grandkids: Danielle, David, Jr., Marli, Nyla, Senijah, Khemar, Khemani, Jahdai, Kasia, Nehemiah, Logan, Leila , Kaleb, and Rose; nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
