

George was born May 4,1949 to George Sr. And Marion Landgrebe in Rockville Centre, New York. He graduated from Central High in Valley Stream and New York State University in Potsdam, New York.
After teaching History and coaching at Mexico, New York, George found his calling in sales in the animal health industry and retired from Merck after nearly forty years.
George married Cheryl Wood Long in 1986 in Brandon, Florida and they joined families for many wonderful years. He enjoyed golfing, sports and traveling and had visited all 50 states, crossed the equator and the arctic circle and cruised to countless countries.
He was predeceased by his parents and infant great -grandson, Atticus Shavnore. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, brother Neil Landgrebe (Elvira), daughter Stephanie Bailey (Dan), step-daughters Kelly Shavnore (Kevin) and Kristi Griffith (Pat). Surviving grandchildren are Ryan Shavnore (Rung), Erica Kessick (Evan), Brent Shavnore (Samantha), Aaron Shavnore, Renee Cimpanu (Sergiu), Morgan and Lexi Bailey, and Tori Moore (Dakota). Great-grandchildren are Brian Kessick, Lincoln Shavnore and Marina Cimpanu. He is also survived by brother-in law, David Wood, sister-in law Linda Landgrebe, nieces and nephews Tom Wood, Chris Okamoto and daughter Kamora, Brenda Stephanopoulos and sons Dylan, Jayden and Camden, and Tiffany Landgrebe.
Private graveside services will be held March 20th at Hillsboro Memorial in Brandon.
