

Georgiane A (Gates) Reynolds-Brackett, age 89, died peacefully in Brandon, Florida on April 1, 2026. With a heavy heart, we remember a life filled with kindness, laughter, and cherished memories. Georgie’s unwavering support and gentle spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Born in Athens, Georgia on November 17, 1936, Georgie was the daughter of the late Alvin H. Sr. and Hallie (Arthur) Gates. After moving to Cortland, New York, Georgie, a graduate of Homer Central High School, met and married Reginald (Reggie) Reynolds and raised three children.
Georgie was a member of the order of the Eastern Star, achieving Grand Matron level; she was an avid horse owner and 4-H leader in her community. Georgie and Reg owned and operated Cortland Vending Service prior to moving to Sarasota, Florida in 1979. Georgie soon established a condominium cleaning service in Sarasota with Reg providing building maintenance services. Once she and Reg retired, they moved to Apollo Beach, Florida where they became active members of their community. Following her husband’s passing, Georgie met and married William Brackett. They spent 10 years dancing twice each week, laughing and leading an exercise class three times each week in their Caribbean Isles community center.
Georgie was predeceased by husbands, Reginald Reynolds, William Brackett; son, Stephen Reynolds; grandson, Chad Reynolds; granddaughter, Danyell Reynolds; siblings, Joan Grogan, Robert Gates, Alvin Gates, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Christine (Doug) Vollmer; Robbin (Phil) Cochran; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
