GEDDES, Gerard “Rod” Jr., 53, passed away suddenly on January 21, 2016 in Tampa. He was born in Huntington, N.Y. but spent much of his childhood in Summerville, S.C. where he graduated from high school. An avid sports fan, Rod liked nothing more than watching his son, Nicholas, grow up playing the sports he loved. Always the handyman at heart, there was never anything that Rod couldn’t fix especially if it included, yet another, trip to Home Depot. Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Gerry. He is survived by his son, Nicholas; ex-wife, Christy Saladino; her daughter, Gabrielle Henson; sister, Jane; brother, Tim; sister-in-law, Sherri; nephew, Hunter; nieces, Kylie, Brooke; and extended family members of the Saladino and Zielinski families. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association in Rod’s memory.
