With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Ivan Leigh Waldron, who passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 85. Born on September 15, 1940, in Temple, Michigan, Ivan lived a full and spirited life defined by hard work, loyalty, and a genuine love for the people around him.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, June and Edgar Waldron; his brothers, Francis and Donald Waldron; and his grandson, Gabriele Waldron. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Martha E. Waldron; his son, Christopher L. Waldron; his daughter-in-law Kahla L Waldron; his grandson, Christopher L. Waldron Jr.; and his step-granddaughters, Samantha and Renee Eisenhauer. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Marlene Seelye, and his brothers, Ralph and Charles Waldron. Ivan cherished his family deeply, and time spent with them was among his greatest joys.
Throughout his working years, Ivan brought dedication and grit to every job he held. His career included time with the Joey Chitwood Thrill Show, Sterling Salt, and the National Gypsum Company—roles that reflected both his adventurous spirit and his strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Ivan embraced life with enthusiasm. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, NHRA, and dirt track racing, never missing a chance to cheer on his favorites. He loved fishing in Tampa Bay, crafting woodworking projects, and lending a hand to friends whenever they needed help. His ability to fix, build, and create made him the person many turned to, and he offered his skills freely and gladly.
Above all, Ivan treasured the simple, meaningful moments—sharing stories, enjoying good company, and being present for the people he loved. His warmth, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
May his memory continue to inspire kindness, resilience, and love in the lives he touched.
