He was born on July 11, 1926 in Cedar Key, Florida to the late Elsie and James Wallace Brush Sr.
James worked locally for Eli Witt, and was a member of Bell Shoals Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Laverne Brush; children, James (Cheryl) Brush III, Melanie Toth, Cynthia (Bruce) Britten; grandchildren; many extended family member and friends.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Lofton and son, John E. Brush.
