

BRYAN, James R., 81, of Brandon, Florida, passed away on February 20, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 16, 1929, in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Bryan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brandon for 47 years. In addition to serving as a Deacon, he was also a member of Adult Sunday School and various committees. He was an active member of Brandon Rotary Club for many years. He was awarded “Mr.Eagle” in 1968 by Brandon High School for his many years of service. Mr.Bryan spent his entire adult life in the automobile business. He was the first new car dealership in Brandon with the opening of “Bob Bryan’s” Brandon Chrysler Plymouth in 1973. He is a former member of the Greater Tampa Bay Automobile Dealer’s Association. He also owned Lakeland Chrysler Dodge in Lakeland, Florida for 28 years. He served as President of the Greater Lakeland Automobile Dealer’s Association and State Director of Florida Auto Dealers. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Bryan; four children, Jim(Rose), Becky Wilson (Bill), Steve and Judi Bryan; eight grandchildren, Bryan Wilson (Betsy), Amber Hampton (Bryan), Carson Bryan (Dina), TJ Bryan and Morgan Bryan; two great-grandchildren, Molly Hampton and Falon Bryan; sister, Judy Richards (Joe) of Birmingham, Alabama; sister-in-law, Mardella McDonald of Merritt Island, Abbie Beardon of Alexis, North Carolina and Anna Kendrick of Birmingham, Alabama and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will take place at 2PM on February 23, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Brandon, 216 North Parsons Avenue, Brandon, 33510. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A Committal Service will immediately follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
