Janette began her life in Michigan as the daughter of a hard working farming family. She helped care for her younger siblings during that time. She had the calling to the mission field and ended up in Africa where she spent 18 years as a Missionary for the United Methodist Church. She played piano as well as the organ and would often sing as well as help lead worship for the small local group of missionaries. She loved music and continued to sing and play when she returned and settled with her family in Brandon Florida where her brother had settled. She had a very deep faith and was a caring, strong and giving mother, sister, daughter and friend.
When she retired, she helped care for her grandson for 2 years and then returned to Michigan to help care for her own mother until her mother needed to enter the local nursing home. She battled breast cancer and won. As she got older, she worried that her memory was going and that was her last great battle.
She was predeceased by her sons, Timothy (first born and died at 6 months of age) and Steven Hoepner; and sisters, Shirley GreenLeaf and Pauline Eichler.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne and Jim Hoepner; daughter, Patricia Hoepner; brothers, Ron, Ken, Ross, Keith and Paul Geiger; sister, Beverly McCarty and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November, 7, 2015 at Limona Village Chapel UMC, 408 Limona Rd., Brandon, FL 33510.
