John Marcel Danet, 59, of Seffner, entered into rest May 27, 2021, after a four and a half-year battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sarah and his parents John Theodore and Anne Marie Danet. He is survived by his wife, Dawn; daughter and son-in-law, Summer and Anthony Lobascio; grandson, Hudson Lobascio, mother- and father-in-law, Anette and Paul Friese; brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Lizette Danet; sister-in-law, Heather Friese-Griffith; niece, Olivia Griffith; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins and friends.
John was born in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and moved to New York after high school. He recently retired from the Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association as Building Superintendent. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his grandson Hudson whom he adored and working in his vegetable garden. John loved his family and friends and looked forward to his annual vacation at Englewood Beach each summer. His favorite pastime was looking for sharks’ teeth. He also enjoyed going deep sea fishing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center or LifePath Hospice. A service will be held at St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church, 4450 CR 579, Seffner. Details to follow.
