MAYES, John W. Sr. “Pops”, 69, Seffner, passed away March 20, 2014. He loved his family and was a religious man and member of the Sydney First Church of God. Pops was also an avid football and Buccaneer’s fan. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Thelma; son, John W. Mayes Jr. (Candie); daughter, Pamela Mayes (Tim Estep); sister, Doris Avore (Bob); ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Stowers Funeral Home. Interment will be at Limona Cemetery.
