A Celebration of the Life of John Richard “Dick” Sipe
John Richard “Dick” Sipe, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Donald Sipe and Francine Lambiotte. He grew up with his siblings, Donna Rankey (late) and Paul Sipe.
A proud graduate of Ohio State University, Dick remained a steadfast Buckeye fan throughout his life, cheering on his team with enthusiasm every season. He honorably served his country as a Korean War veteran, carrying with him the discipline, strength, and loyalty of his service throughout his life. Dick was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 67 years, Dianne Ford Sipe. Together they built a foundation of unwavering love, support, and values that permeated every aspect of family life.
He was a loving father to Laura Marchetti (the late Vincent), Chris Sipe (Alicia), and Linda Pelosi (Michael). He was a cherished grandfather to Katie Marchetti (late), Andrew Marchetti (Nicolette), Molly Pelosi, John Pelosi, Olivia Sipe, and Christian Sipe (Mery). His joy extended to his three precious great grandchildren: Ella, Vince, and Elio. Dick devoted his career to NCR, where he served as a district manager. He was an incredible leader who shaped the lives of his team. His leadership and mentorship left such a lasting impression that, even decades later, former colleagues reached out to share how much he meant to them as a mentor and guide. He also generously shared his skills later in life by teaching Windows to seniors at the University of South Florida, helping others gain confidence in technology and stay connected. Dick stayed active throughout his life, enjoying golf, working in the yard, playing bridge, and exercising regularly at the YMCA. He also had a lifelong love of reading, which reflected his curiosity and appreciation for knowledge. With Dianne by his side, he traveled to many countries, creating lasting
memories together and deepening their shared love of culture and adventure. He found his greatest peace and contentment at home, overlooking the golf course, surrounded by the people he loved most. He shared an especially strong bond with his children, speaking with them every single day. This daily connection was a source of joy and comfort, and it reflected the deep love and closeness that defined their family. Dick was also a gifted storyteller, often sharing the tales of his life in a way that kept his family completely immersed in the conversation. His stories were treasured moments that drew everyone in and will be remembered for years to come. Dick’s legacy of love, strength, integrity, wisdom, and humor will live on in the hearts and minds of his children and grandchildren, who will carry forward his example throughout their lives. He will be deeply missed, and the memories of his life will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were blessed to know him.
