Joseph (Joe) H. Haynes of Valrico, Florida passed away on Monday January 20, 2025, at the age of 70. Born April 23, 1954, in Eustis, Florida, Joe was the son of the late Katherine Elizabeth Markham Haynes and Arnold Calvin Haynes.
Joe adored his family and is survived by his two Daughters Haley Lynn Haynes of Tampa, FL and Jenna Victoria Haynes of Valrico, FL; Sister Linda Haynes Nunnallee of Raleigh, NC; Niece Claire H. Nunnallee, Raleigh, NC; Nephew Andrew B. Nunnallee, Raleigh, and numerous cousins and other extended family members.
Joe had a very successful multi-faceted career and was generally considered a jack-of-all-trades (frankly, he could fix or build just about anything).
Although he lived most of his adult life in the Brandon area, Joe was raised in Mt. Dora, FL and was always delighted when he had an opportunity to reconnect with his lifelong Mt. Dora friends.
Joe was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a man of the people, and was able to strike up an engaging conversation with anyone, anywhere, at any time from any walk of life. His life was filled with love, kindness, humility, fun, and lots of humor. Joe had an outgoing and infectious personality. You always felt that he was genuinely interested in and curious about what was going on in your life – it was never about him. He deeply loved Jesus, his Lord and Savior and his entire life exemplified Jesus’s commandment in Matthew 22:39: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Joe
successfully completed the four-year curriculum from The Bible Training Center for Pastors and Leaders.
Joe had many passions. Above all else, he was fiercely devoted to his two girls Haley and Jenna who he taught to do “whatever it takes”. He loved big, was deeply loyal, protective, generous, curious and always available. His passion peeked at any event that brought people he loved together with food and joy. Christmas brought out the biggest celebration for Joe. He loved golfing with his buddies. A sport he learned from his father. Lifelong friendships from the “Westerly group” were some of his favorite memories. And he never missed an opportunity to say “Go Gators” with a wink to his “Seminole” friends.
Joe made this world a far better place and this beautiful man will remain a powerful force in the lives of family, friends, and colleagues.
A celebration of life will be held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Bridge Community Church, P. O. Box 2171, Brandon, FL 33509 or to a charity of your choice.
