Joyceline Smart

On Wednesday August 23, 2023, Joyceline Smart also known by friends as Dough-Dough gained her wings. She passed away peacefully at age 69 at home in Wesley Chapel, FL. She was born Joyceline Sinclair on December 10, 1953, in the district of Whitfield Town, St. Andrew in Kingston Jamaica to Mother Albertha Lewin and Father Herbert Constantine Sinclair.

Joyceline migrated to Amityville, NY in 1983 with her three children at the time and lived in NY where she had two more children and worked as a CNA at Berkshire Nursing Home for over 20 years. In 2013 she became sick and moved to Virginia with her two daughters and later moved to Wesley Chapel Florida where she resided for the past 10 years. Joyceline Smart was a strong woman who gave selflessly, a devoted mother who poured everything into her children, she was truly a gift to the world! She worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for her children and would proudly boast about all of her children. She was a mom to all the kids in the neighborhood, “Momma Smart” is what they called her. She touched the lives of so many people, her passion for helping others allowed her to do monumental things with limited resources. She was a blessing to so many and will truly be missed.

Joyceline is survived by her six children: Trevor Smart, Ian Smart, daughter-in-law Jemilla Smart, Tameka Smart, Tevin Thomas, and Zenobia McGhee along with five grandchildren TJ Smart, Olivia Solomon, Sophia Smart, Aaliyah Smart, and Marley Smart. Her siblings Paul Sinclair, Delores Sinclair, Lorna Sinclair, Hyacinth Sinclair, Evadney Sinclair, Annmarie Sinclair, Dian Sinclair, Michelle Sinclair.

She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Smart, Mother Albertha Sinclair, Father Herbert Constantine Sinclair and her Siblings Denton Sinclair, Anthony Sinclair, Sonia Sinclair, Wayne Sinclair, and Owen Roy Sinclair.

A celebration of life for Joyceline will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.
