

BISHOP, Judith Amba (Judi), age 71 died November 2, 2015, at the Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, FL. Born January 29, 1944 in Titusville, PA, Judi lived most of her life in Brandon, FL. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Mata Bishop. She received most of her schooling in Brandon, graduating from Brandon High School in 1962. She held numerous short-term jobs, but devoted most of her adult life to caring for her mother and father. She was a very caring person and selfless in helping others; including the homeless, handicapped, military veterans, her many life long friends and even stray cats. She was an avid sports fan, and was very knowledgeable in Political Science, party politics, and the administration of both public and world affairs. She never met a stranger, and bestowed excessive love on friends and family relations. Her survivors include her brothers, Harry Bishop and his wife Tiny of Sumter, SC; Donald Bishop, Jr. of Titusville, PA, sister, Jill Studstill of Jacksonville, FL; two favorite cousins, Mary Ellen Fischer of Largo, FL, and Bobby Elkins of Colorado Springs, CO; a life long friend, Mary Jo Bashaw of Tampa, FL; and many other high school friends, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Bishop and her mother Mata Bishop and brother, Jack. The family has opted for a private memorial service and would like to give special thanks to the Surgeons and Nurses of St. Joseph’s Hospital of Tampa and to the Nurses and Pastor of Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, FL for their special attention and loving care. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospital of Melech Hospice Care. Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon has entrusted with the arrangements.
