Kathy Marlene Cheasebro

November 18, 1949 - December 23, 2025

Kathy Marlene (Oster) Cheasebro (formerly Stroud, Leary and Psaras), 76, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, surrounded by family. She was born on November 18, 1949, in Elwood, Indiana. She was married to Kim R. Cheasebro (“Kacey”), September 17, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her birth parents John Marshall Stroud (1894-1952) and Burcha Reynolds Stroud (1920-1952), her adoptive parents George Henry Oster (1917-1995) and cousin Elizabeth Pauline (Paugh) Oster (1911-2000), her sisters Patsy Montana “Patty” Reynolds, Charlotte Raye (Reynolds) Stephens, Sharon Kay (Stroud) Stutzman, Mary Elizabeth (Stroud) Lambertson Reynolds, and Connie Marie (Stroud) Fullhart, and half-sister Barbara Jean (Stroud) Edgell, and stepdaughter Tammy (Cheasebro) Burchfield.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Kim R. Cheasebro (“Kacey”), her brother David (Stroud) Knopp, daughter Cynthia Louise Leary, and son Howard Smith Leary II, grandsons Ryan Leary, Timmothy Meyrick, granddaughters Hayley Pittman, Gabrielle (Pittman) Simonsen, grandson Hunter Leary, granddaughter Natalie Leary, great grandsons Zane Leary and Liam Simonsen, six other grandchildren, and many cousins, nephews, and their families.

Kathy attended Elementary schools in Elwood, Noblesville and Tampa Florida. Known Schools are Town and County Elementary in Tampa, and she graduated from Leto High School in Tampa Florida. She worked hard on the farm as a young child then started her first job at the age of 14, working at her parents’ restaurant in Gibsonton, Florida.

She worked as Certified Nursing Assistant and a Health Unit Secretary at the VA hospital in Tampa, Florida, Tulsa, Oklahoma, also at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, and Monroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Florida. She went to work for the YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, Colorado, where she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Kacey Cheasebro.
