HIGHTOWER, Lennie "Tunk" , 87, of Tampa, entered into rest Saturday, January 12, 2013. He worked as a signalman supervisor in the railroad industry and retired after 35 years of dedicated service. Lennie proudly served our country after enlisting in the Navy in 1943. He was a member of Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon as well as the VFW. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Bennett. Survivors include his loving wife, Gloria; son-in-law, Chris Bennett; grandsons, Matthew and Travis Bennett; nephews, Billy (Carlette), Jimmy (Donna), and David Hightower; and three stepchildren, Diane, Barbara, David. A celebration of life will be held at Bell Shoals Thursday, January 17 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation in his honor to the Bell Shoals Baptist Outdoor Classroom fund. Lennie will be dearly missed by his family and friends, but will live on in their hearts and memories.
