He took Bobbie Freeman's hand in marriage. Between them there were six children: Ernest, Cathy, Linda, Donna, Jacqueline, and Lubin Jr. (deceased). Later on in his life, Lubin had another son, Antoniel. Today, Lubin's blessings has multiplied with many grandchildren and great grand-children. Also, a host of nieces and nephews.
Known all his life as a man good with his hands, Lubin served as an Aircraft Mechanic in the Unites States Air Force. He put a roof over his family's head by managing the maintenance at an apartment building on the South Side of Chicago. He then learned cars as an assembler at the Ford's manufacturing plant and took those skills to an auto mechanic shop. It was there that he recognized and seized the opportunity to take the wheel. He advanced beyond a mechanic and became the proud owner of Sure-Fire Automotives until he retired. That allowed him to employ family members over the span of decades.
He spent his last years in Florida a part of the family in the home of his daughter, Linda and son in-law, Winston Douglas. There he could be found sitting in his recliner watching TV (westerns, news, sports, game shows and at times sermons on God's word).
Lubin will be remembered as a quiet, loving, provider, and protector.
Lubin died May 2, 2023 in James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital at the age of 85.
On this day, May 13, 2023, Lubin will be laid to rest in his grave until the second coming of Jesus Christ.
A visitation for Lubin will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
