VELAZQUEZ, Maria J., 94, of Tampa, formerly of Puerto Rico, entered into rest March 22, 2016. Maria enjoyed knitting, gardening, and counseling children. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be missed by all that knew her. She was predeceased in death by her daughter, Miriam. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Leonardo, sons Nelson Velazquez (Mirian), Eliud Velazquez (Elba), grandchildren Lisette, Brenda, Eliud Jr., Nelson Jr., Astrid and Yahel, great-grandchildren Alexandria, Anna, Sofie, two brothers, one sister and extended family members. A funeral service will be held 10:a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at the funeral home.
