
JOHNSON, Marian, 92, went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2010. Marian died peacefully in Tallahassee, Florida with her family at her side. She was born in Tampa, Florida on September 28, 1918, to Charles and Thelma Bean. She lived most of her life in Tampa, moving to Tallahassee later in life to live with her daughter. She was a loving Christian woman who always put God and her family first. She was very active in the churches she attended throughout her life, working with youth and missionary societies. Having worked in a variety of jobs throughout her life, Marian retired from the Hillsborough County School System’s Migrant Education Program Office. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. “Bo” Johnson, her parents, one sister (Francis Moore) and four brothers (Charles, Jr., Forest, Edward, and George Bean). Survivors include her daughters, Claudia Moseley (Bill) of Bellevue, NE, and Carol Thornton of Tallahassee, Florida; her grandchildren: Eric Thornton (Leilani) of Marietta, GA, Bruce Thornton of Tallahassee, Fla., Laura Helm (Robert) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Jennifer Moseley of Omaha, Neb.; and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in- law, Jean Bean of Tampa, Fla., and Lydia Johnson of Dowling Park, Fla.; and many loving nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends 9-10 a.m., with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon, Fla. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. After the interment the family will also receive friends at the home of Roger and Lois Waters in Lutz. A memorial service and family visitation will be held at Morningside Baptist Church in Tallahassee at a later date. The family is especially grateful to their sister-in-law, Pat Moseley, who lovingly provided nursing care and emotional support to the family for many years; to her nieces Lois Waters and Marilyn Knecht and other relatives and friends for their ongoing love and support. The family wishes to thank the staff at Covenant Hospice, and Tallahassee Memorial Adult Services for the loving care they have provided.
