Marie Boccuzzi

Our beloved mother, Marie Olga Boccuzzi passed away peacefully on September 2, 2011 at Sun City Center Hospice House in Ruskin, Florida. Born in Stamford, CT on August 17, 1931, she was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Beatrice Balducci Cappellieri.

She was employed at Pitney Bowes Credit Union from which she retired in 1993.

Marie and her loving companion of 38 years, Derek Scholefield, retired to Riverview, Florida, where they were members of Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club.

Marie's love and devotion to her family is everlasting. Her cooking went unsurpassed. But she will be most remembered for her love of all God's living creatures, large and small.

She will be missed by her daughters, Jeanette Boccuzzi of Norwalk, CT and Stephanie Boccuzzi of Stamford, CT and her 3 grandchildren, Susan Williams(Eli), Gregory Lathrop and Courtney Lathrop, all of Stamford.

A memorial service for her friends and family in Riverview, FL will be held at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Blvd., Brandon, Florida on Saturday, October 8 at 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Marie's name to the Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L. Street NW., Washington D.C. 20037 or 202-452-1100.
