Mary Foster Cook

Mary was a devoted Christian and a member of Seffner Church of Christ. She was a wonderful caregiver. She had a true love for people, always wanting to help others, whether it be to take them to church services, appointments, or just sit with them when they or a loved one was ill or wanted a friend for company. When Mary finally had to give up her car and driving, it really broke her spirit. She loved to be on the go and travel anywhere and everywhere possible.

After working for 25 years for Hillsborough County Public Schools she retired to take care of her own mother. She worked most of those 25 years as the head custodian for Cork Elementary.

Mary’s family was everything to her. There was absolutely nothing she would not do for her children and grandchildren. She was the best!!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey W. Cook; son, Troy Reid Cook; parents, Charlie and Leda Bell Ausburn; five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons: Tolan Kerry Cook (Susie), Taylor Wade Cook (Paige); one daughter, Tonya Cook Rogers (Marshal); three sisters: Fayrene Lentz, Bessie Fryer, Leda Bell Sistrunk; two brothers: Leroy Ausburn, Roger Ausburn, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation with family and friends will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am Monday, January 13, 2025 with funeral service at 11:00 am at Seffner Church of Christ, 621 E. Wheeler Rd, Seffner, FL.
