Mike was born in Detroit, Michigan, but lived most of his life in Tampa, Florida. He was the eldest of seven siblings. He was a very loving father to his son Michael Burton Hosey a/k/a Mikey and his daughter Autumn Marie. He truly loved and appreciated Debbie Hosey, his former wife and mother to their son, Mikey.
Mike was so proud of his outstanding career as a skilled and certified ironworker, and enjoyed seeing his fellow veterans of the trade. He contributed to the erection of many large facilities in the Tampa Bay area for over 35 years.
Mike was a fine man, a standup guy, a true gentleman and a counselor for those who needed a good listener. To his nieces and nephews, he was known as (their much loved) "Uncle Mike." He had plenty of stories to tell family and friends. Mike was a fun guy and he enjoyed having a good time! He was a loyal friend and really cherished his buddies, both male and female. Especially his sweet and close friend Robin Robb. Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had such a big heart. He’d give you anything even if it wasn’t his to give. He could make you laugh even when you were unhappy with him. He had such a strong will in life. He was hard headed, determined and committed to his promises. He was a good friend to have.
In his last years, Mike grew closer to God and although we grieve now, we also rejoice to know he has been welcomed by angels in his new home with the Lord in Heaven. We miss his presence so very much and the memories will always be in our hearts. We know we will meet again for as Mike has always said '"With God all thing are possible".
Michael is survived by his children, Michael Burton Hosey of Tampa FL and Autumn Marie Sweezy (John); Brothers; Lee Hosey(Cyane), Steve Legue(Alyssa), Danny Hosey; Sisters; Ronda Dearauio, Debbie Legue, Brenda Sheldon; 26 Nieces and Nephews, 15 Grand Nieces and Nephews and 5 Grandchildren. We love you Michael, rest in beautiful peace.
