Born on April 9, 1965, in Syracuse, NY, Molly graduated from Springville Griffith Institute High School before continuing her education at Herkimer County Community College. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Management from Austin Peay State University.
Molly began her career as a court reporter before joining the U.S. Army at the age of 25, serving as a counterintelligence agent. She was also employed by Blanchfield Army Community Hospital and later retired from The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Beyond her professional achievements, Molly was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She had a heart full of kindness and always put others before herself. Her greatest joy was caring for her family, and she poured her love into every role she took on.
She had a passion for adventure and loved skiing, hiking, traveling, and scuba diving, but her true happiness came from time spent with her loved ones. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering support touched everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randy, and her parents, Russell and Jean Gately. She is survived by her children, Reid and Lauren, as well as her sister, Martha (Russ) Roth, and her brother, Thomas (Jane) Gately.
Her kindness and selflessness will be deeply missed, but her love will live on in the hearts of those she left behind.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date. Molly will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, beside her husband, Randy.
