Myrna Lea Gilmore was born on July 3, 1943, to Gail and Blanche (Dey) Gilmore in York, Nebraska. When she was young, her family moved to LeMars, Iowa. She graduated from LeMars Community High School in 1961 and furthered her education at the University of Iowa.
Myrna was united in marriage to Thomas Rohlfsen on April 17, 1965, at the United Methodist Church of LeMars. They made their home in LeMars raising their 3 children. In 1985, the family moved to Florida and settled in Tampa. Myrna worked at Bank of America for 20 years and held several positions, retiring in 2007 as an Assistant Vice President.
Myrna was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening and traveling with friends and family. But her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren. She cherished celebrating holidays. With her natural ability to make these occasions perfect for her family, she had a special way of making everyone feel loved. Her grandchildren treasure the fun times spent with her and the wonderful traditions she created. They have happy memories of each love-filled birthday, the elaborate Easter egg hunts, and most of all, her beautiful Christmas decorations and the annual (messy) Christmas cookie decorating parties.
Myrna is survived by her husband of 58 years, Tom of Tampa, FL; daughters, Robin (Brad) Jurrens of Highlands Ranch, CO, Tracey (Ron) Wigginton of Tampa, FL, and a son, Todd (Joanne) Rohlfsen of Valrico, FL; grandchildren, Kayla (Andy) Crowder, Connor Jurrens, Sarah Rohlfsen, Carson Wigginton and Cole Wigginton; sisters, Twila Neumayer and Sandra Klitzke; sisters-in-law, Georgia Rohlfsen and Terry Rohlfsen; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gail and Blanche Gilmore; parents-in-law, Stanley and Lillian Rohlfsen; sister, Kela Nelson; infant brother, Bryon Gilmore; and brothers-in-law, Vern Klitzke, Gerald Nelson, Larry Neumayer, David Rohlfsen, and Jim Rohlfsen.
