

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas Salvatore Abate on June 2, 2025. Nicholas, 78, was born to Teresa Abate and Salvatore Abate on November 27, 1946, Brooklyn, New York. Beloved by the community. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. He had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did.
In 1966 Nicholas enlisted and served honorably in the U.S Army. He received the National Defense Service Medal for Sharpshooting and the Army of Occupation Medal. Nicholas was proud to have served our country.
Nicholas chose a career as a union organizer. It was his true passion. His commitment to community and justice never wavering. His efforts improved the working conditions for healthcare workers everywhere.
Nicholas built a loving family with the love of his life, his wife Stella. He loved being surrounded by his family, including his son Salvatore and his wife Loriann. His daughter Jeannine and her husband Brian (deceased 2024), and their children William, John, and Patrick. His daughter Cheryl and her husband Joe, along with their children Stephanie, Kaitlyn, and Joseph.
He cherished his community, friendships, and family. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the many stories shared by those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held to honor Nicholas's life and legacy on June 21, 2025, at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon Florida.
