

Norma Nixon Castro, aged 92, passed away Nov. 25th, 2021 in her home and the company of her family. She was preceded by her parents Ernst and Esther Hallen, husband C.M.Sgt. Bernard Nixon, and second husband Luther Castro. She is survived by her brother Herbert Hallen (Linda), sisters Sylvia West and Margie DeNome, her children Vicki Shea of Riverview, Brenda Eastep of Ruskin, Bruce Nixon of Cincinnati, OH. and Barry Nixon of Lexington, KY. grandchildren Daniel Shea, Kevin Shea, and Kate Eastep Chavez, and great-grandsons Liam Chavez, and Ronan Shea.
She grew up in Quincy, MA. and graduated from Bryant & Stratton College in Boston. She then married and traveled with her husband in the Air Force. She was active in Limona United Methodist Church and delivering Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed traveling, visiting family, playing piano, cooking, reading, her black and white cats, and of course ironing. Late in life she was fortunate to twice visit Sweden, her father's birthplace, and connect with cousins and family history.
