Smith, Robert Lee, 82, of Seffner entered into rest on Monday, September 30, 2013. Robert was born on May 13, 1931 in Tampa, Florida to the late Herbert Lee Smith and Mary Louise Smith. He is a beloved and loving husband, father, and friend; as well as enthusiastic supporter of FSU and all things “Seminole.” Robert graduated from Jefferson High School in 1949, and then continued on to Florida State University where he received his bachelor’s degree. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954 with the 24th Infantry Division. Robert was a proud public servant for both Hillsborough County and the State of Florida, retiring almost 20 years ago as a District Program Manager for the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. Robert is predeceased by his daughter, Sheri L. Smith. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sally L. Smith; and son, Robert L. Smith Jr. and wife Betty. Memorial Service will be held 1 PM on October 25, 2013 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to LifePath Hospice.
