Robin Alease Dillard

Robin A. Jones, 68, of Carbondale, IL passed away on March 27th, 2024 from cancer. Robin is survived by her brothers Steven and Adolphus, as well as her sisters Connie, Adele, Sala, Sheila and Judy. Robin is also survived by her three loving children, Omari, Ashiko, and Nia Dillard.

Robin married Harold Dillard October 20th, 1979.

After graduating from Southern Illinois University, Robin assumed a teaching position at Pinecrest Elementary where she taught for over 20 years. Her teaching style was strict yet sincere. She implemented several learning tools and would often create rhyming mantras for her students, which offered them the opportunity to excel. Robin’s education never ended. She went back to school to earn her master’s degree and still holds a valid teaching degree today.

In 1993, Robin moved to Brandon, FL and bought her first home. Outside of teaching, Robin headed an aerobics class at the local YMCA and offered tutoring to those who needed it.

After retiring, Robin spent her time with her grandchildren, Jasiah, Johanna, Jordan, and Miana Dillard.

She is further survived by her extended family and loving friends.
